Legislative Monitoring for Transparency and Accountability in Liberia

In the period March 2013 to December 2014, the Legislative Monitoring for transparency and Accountability in Liberia (LEMTAIL) Project researched the accountability, transparency and citizens’ participation and appreciation of the workings of the Liberian Legislature.
The results of the research are summarized in this report. Key findings are the many secret sessions that took place in the legislature without any explanation to the Liberian people, the lack of a functioning committee systems and the absence of a legislative agenda.
