Motion Sen Gaye: Konneh Escapes Jail

It took a motion of reconsideration filed by Senator Alphonso Gaye (G. Gedeh County) to stop Finance and Development Planning Minister Amara Konneh from serving two-day jail term at the Monrovia Central prison where lawmakers (senators) had voted to send him. During Tuesday's session, senators unanimously agreed that he (Konneh) be sent to jail as penalty for "a boisterous posture displayed" when he was invited last week to elucidate contents of a letter addressed to them (lawmakers). But a swift and timely intervention by Senator Gaye saved the day for the Finance Minister, though he is not out of the woods yet as far as rules governing motion of reconsideration are concerned.
