Senators Admit Wasteful Spending

Two members of the Liberian Senate have admitted wasteful spending in the functionaries of the Liberian government, which they said, needs to be put to a halt. The Senators said such wasteful spending on the part of officials of government including members of the Legislature is contributing to the country's crumbling economy.
There has been persistent public outcry that the country's resources are being enjoyed by a selected few in government, while vast majority of the citizens live in abject poverty. Debating a communication from Grand Bassa County Senator Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence asking the Senate to conduct a public hearing on the status of the Liberian economy Thursday, the Senators confessed that bulk of the revenue generated are being spent wastefully on material things rather than tangibles.
